South of France - the area to be in Europe

Languedoc Roussillon, a part of South of France, is the largest wine-growing region in the world. A dream to have a property surrounded by vineyards, AB Real Estate makes the dream come true. AB Real Estate, your property agent is as well selling properties in Avignon, Arles, Mirepoix and Revel, areas outside of Languedoc-Roussillon.

The South of France, which runs along the Mediterranean coast between Spain and Italy, is made up of the Côte d'Azur, Provence and Languedoc-Roussillon. Bathed in Mediterranean sunlight and with its slower and more relaxed pace of life, the South of France remains a popular location for buying property for a holiday home, a second home or a new permanent base.

The Mediterranean weather has long, warm summers and mild winters with 82% of days being sunny - the best weather in France! Healthy Mediterranean food includes fresh seafood caught that morning and on your plate at lunchtime together with a wide variety of excellent wines to choose from. Moreover the colourful picturesque markets offer a huge choice of fresh fruits, vegetables and many other regional products - the atmosphere is not to be missed!

The Côte d'Azur, or French Riviera, stretches from Monaco through Nice and Cannes to Saint-Tropez. It is a major yachting and cruising area with several marinas along its coast. Famous for its chic and affluent style, it is a popular tourist destination with 115 km (71 miles) of coastline and beaches.

Provence, with its major towns of Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, Arles, Avingon and Orange, is famous for its immense lavender fields and the Camargue with its pink flamingos, wild white horses and sea salt. Pastis is an aniseed-flavored liqueur drink that originated from here, and many famous artists such as Matisse, Cézanne, Picasso, van Gogh, Monet and Renoir chose this lovely area to illustrate many of their works of art.

The Languedoc-Roussillon's coastline stretches from Nîmes to Montpellier and Narbonne and round to Perpignan and Coullioure. The Languedoc Roussillon also includes well-kown towns such as Uzès, Pezenas, Sète, Béziers, Limoux and Céret.

Expansive vineyards stretch between the Rhone Valley across the Pyrenees with its ski resorts and the 177km (110 miles) of Mediterranean coastline including some of the most beautiful beaches in the south of France. It is the largest wine-growing region in the world and retains an authentic French style. The beautiful landscape with its smooth rolling hills invites to drive through the typical plane tree lined lanes and to stop for a stroll and a drink in the attractive medieval villages.
