Languedoc Roussillon is the most popular region in France

This month statistics were released by Insee Roger Rabier confirming what many of us already believed - that Languedoc Roussillon is the most popular region in France. At the end of 2011, there were 2,610,890 residents.

It is not just the ex-pats that flock here but many French people are drawn from all over the country to this sunny Mediterranean region. The main factors are the quality of life, work and education. The Languedoc Roussillon has the highest population growth in France which means that nearly half (49%) of all residents were not born here. 35% were born elsewhere in France and 14% in other countries.

With communication links improving all the time, opening up the region and making it more easily accessible - TGV, increased flights and routes, high speed trains, motorways etc - this trend looks set to continue which can only bode well for those investing in property in Languedoc Roussillon.
